HISTORY OF THE PUBLICATION

Matrimonial CaseLaw, NY Edition was first published in 1985 and has been published continuously thereafter. It serves both as an update service and a desk reference book, that is organized into 34 separate chapters, most of which have been divided into subchapters, many of which are cross-referenced to other chapters and subchapters throughout the book.

Its purpose is to provide the matrimonial practitioner with a comprehensive analysis of New York matrimonial law, including federal custody, child support, taxation and bankruptcy considerations; to present CaseNotes in an organized and cross-referenced manner; to provide citations for each of the CaseNotes; to expedite matrimonial research; to provide citable concepts of law; and to provide a monthly update service.

The monthly Updates provide the subscriber with a cumulative listing of CaseNotes that supplement the chapters which themselves are updated three times a year. The monthly Updates therefore act as a “newsletter” bringing the latest cases to the attention of the subscribers.

Numbered among its subscribers are matrimonial practitioners, multi-disciplined law firms, law libraries, judges, and judicial hearing officers, as well as and forensic accountants, appraisers, actuaries and pension attorneys.

It is expected that this web site will enhance the subscriber’s ability to receive Updates on a daily basis and enable them to word-search the text of the various chapters.
